Civic Awards - Hertsmere

I was delighted to attend Hertsmere Council’s annual Civic Awards on Saturday evening, where unsung heroes were recognised for their efforts and long-standing service to the community.

From the leader of a girl guides unit to a dedicated player in a brass band and the chairman of a residents association, it was wonderful to see so many deserving people get rewarded, at the ceremony held at Elstree Studios.

The Mayor of Hertsmere, Councillor Charles Goldstein, presented awards to seven worthy winners. Cllr Goldstein said: “The award winners have done so much to benefit others in Hertsmere and it was wonderful to have the opportunity to thank them for their efforts. Each person who received an award has made a difference to their community and helped make the area an even safer and happier place to live and work.”
