Chaplain to the High Sheriff

Rev'd Canon David Hall is Vicar of Christ Church Chorleywood where he leads a large staff team. He is an Honorary Canon of St Alban's Cathedral and was formerly Rural Dean of Rickmansworth.

 

He is passionate about parish ministry, with a particular emphasis on reaching the young and their families. He also leads pilgrimages to the Holy Land and across the Aegean following the journeys of the Apostle Paul, as well as regular chaplaincy duties in English-speaking churches in Switzerland.  He has duel British/Swiss nationality.

 

Prior to ordination, David worked in management in a public relations consultancy, advising clients on a wide variety of issues from round-the-world yacht racing and single malt whisky promotion to crisis management following terrorist bombing. As a university student, he worked for the Royal Household as a domestic servant in a variety of roles at Buckingham Palace, Balmoral Castle and Sandringham House.  

 

His interests are cooking, target shooting, skiing and all things alpine. David is married to Mary, who is a professional cellist and they have four adult children.
