High Sheriff's Cadets

CHARLIE VASS-WESTON -  Three Rivers Police Cadets

My name is Charlie and I am 13 years old, I enjoy physical activities such as running at the local parkrun and attending football sessions with the Watford FC Community, Sports and Educational Trust. These have allowed me to develop my teamwork skills and build on my confidence. In my spare time I also enjoy playing games online with friends.

I have been a police cadet since September 2025.  I have taken the opportunity to attend two remembrance parades in the local community, I have also upskilled my first aid skills through attending the St John Ambulance first aid training day.  Attending these enabled me to challenge myself and grow as an individual and as part of the wider volunteer cadet team.

I chose to apply to be a High Sheriff Cadet as I believe this opportunity will support in developing my understanding of local community events.  An example of this is the Declaration Ceremony. I am committed to supporting and attending events alongside the High Sheriff.

In the future, my ambition is to become a police officer or detective.  The police cadets have allowed me to gain a strong understanding of these careers and I am always keen to learn more.  I enjoy helping others and I believe this is a good trait of being a leader, as well as always setting a good example.

I hope that by being a High Sheriff Cadet, I can make a positive impact on the local community.

OLIVER PLANT - Three Rivers Police Cadets

My name is Ollie and I have been a Police Cadet for 5 years. I actively participate in local events such as the Remembrance Day parade, where my fellow cadets and I proudly marched through the streets in memory of those who gave their lives for our freedom. Joining the cadets has given me the chance to attend important community events such as these.  I am extremely proud of myself for being able to be a part of such important moments in the local community and our country's history.

When I first joined the cadets, I was apprehensive about what to expect. I was nervous to begin with but made an effort to get to know my fellow cadets.  This has enabled me to build new and strong friendships, whilst taking the opportunity to learn from the talented and experienced leaders.  Cadets has allowed me to learn about discipline, teamwork and the importance of helping others.

I am now a skilled and confident young man, who enjoys supporting younger and newer members of the cadet group.  My time in the cadets also introduced me to the world of public service and fuelling my passion in starting a career in the Royal Military Police.

I have begun to take a leadership role in my cadet group.  I hope to inspire those around me and to push them to achieve great things.  I am excited about the opportunity to further develop my skills, confidence and to make a positive meaningful impact and difference on the local community.

I am honoured to have been chosen as one of the High Sheriff Cadets and look forward to supporting the High Sheriff with her work.
