2017 Building Effectiveness Awards

As part of the High Sheriff Awards last week I was delighted to present some awards to the participants of the 2017 Building Effectiveness Programme.

Building Effectiveness in the Hertfordshire Voluntary Sector is an exciting new programme delivered by HCF Training and Development. It is supported by the Garfield Weston Foundation and myself and delivered in partnership with the Cranfield Trust. The project will initially run for 2 years and started in January 2017. In each year 10 organisations are selected to participate in a 9 month tailored, supported development programme. Congratulations to all 10 participants who completed the 2017 programme. All have worked hard to make significant changes that aim to make their organisations stronger, more effective and sustainable. The 2017 organisations were:

Crossroads Care Hertfordshire North CVS Broxbourne & East Herts Grove Cottage Bishop's Stortford Mencap HACRO Headway Hertfordshire Herts Inclusive Theatre Herts Young Homeless Home-Start Watford & Three Rivers Rennie Grove Hospice Care Watford FC's Community Sports & Education Trust The following film shows the participants talking about their experience of Building Effectiveness:

Emma Power, Scheme Manager for Home-Start Watford & Three Rivers: "We entered into the Building Effectiveness programme full of ideas and with opportunities in place – not expecting to achieve anywhere near what we have in the last twelve months. I had no idea there would be a ‘winner’ and we are over the moon with the generous donation! Personally, it has been an incredible learning curve for me, which I have thoroughly enjoyed! From Will’s ‘just get on with it’ attitude, Henry’s fabulous insight into branding to Sue’s training and support.”
