The Prince's Trust Cheshunt Team Eight

This was the formal presentation of certificates to the 10 young people who have successfully completed the twelve week Prince’s Trust Team Programme out of the 12 who started it. This is designed for 16-25 year olds who may be unemployed, educational underachievers, offenders or ex-offenders or young people in, or leaving care.

It includes a residential course to build team skills, confidence and a sense of responsibility for others. A community project is carried out which benefits the local area which is then assessed. Help is then given to produce CVs and each team member has to present a personal statement at the ceremony. Many of their stories were very moving. This programme is led by volunteers from the Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and the Hertfordshire Constabulary.

It was great to meet many of the team members and to be able to talk to them about their experience on the programme and their plans for the future.
